Hello NCA Bears & Welcome Back! I hope you had a wonderful break filled with moments of joy and relaxation. If you chose to work on lessons, I hope it was a productive time for you. While spending the Fall Break on tasks may not be the perfect scenario, it can be one of the most effective ways to catch up or get ahead on your lessons. It’s hard to believe that the end of the semester is just three weeks away! Time has truly flown by this year. If you find yourself falling behind or trying to find ways to improve your grades, NOW is the time to connect with your teachers and create a plan. While the option of dropping or skipping assignments is no longer available, working together to identify ways to bring your grade to passing is still possible. This will help earn you that credit needed to graduate! Continue to focus and put in the hard work! The end of the semester is ALMOST here! Temporary Zeros - Temporary zeros for all remaining assignments for the semester will be added in on Friday, December 1st. This does not mean your assignments are considered overdue. You will still have access to these lessons and will still be able to submit these assignments until December 15th at 8:59pm. Adding in temporary zeros will give you an idea of what your grade would be should you not complete the remainder of the assignments. The goal is always to complete everything but, should you not be able to meet that goal, the next goal would be to get your grade up to passing so you can earn the credit for the course. Attendance - Attendance is a vital component of our school and must be consistently recorded. Attendance runs from Saturday to Friday and will be collected through this form each week. This DOES NOT mean you should wait until Friday to fill out your attendance form. Please fill it out first thing Monday morning. Unsure how to fill out the form, click here for instructions. Before we leave for our well-deserved break, here are a few important reminders and updates: 1. The NCA Office will be closed next week (November 20th - November 24th). During this time, teachers and staff will be unavailable for calls, grading, and LiveLessons. Please plan accordingly. 2. For those who may be behind in lessons, I strongly encourage you to use this Fall Break as an opportunity to catch up on any overdue work. No new lessons will be added to your planner during this period. 3. As we return, only three weeks will remain before the end of the semester. It's crucial to consider this timeline when assessing the number of lessons left to complete. Remember, we're here to support you. November brings us a number of different celebrations. I’d like draw your attention to two significant ones. First, on Saturday, November 11th, we commemorate Veterans Day. On Veterans Day, we honor and express our deep gratitude to all the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces, defending our freedoms and safeguarding our nation. Your sacrifices, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting our country are the bedrock of our democracy. Thank you for your service, veterans. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. Happy Veterans Day! Additionally, November is the month designated as Native American Heritage Month. It’s a time to celebrate and honor the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native Americans throughout history and in the present day. It gives us an opportunity to learn about the incredible diversity of indigenous peoples across the United States, their deep connection to the land, and their resilience.
