Hello NCA Bears! The coundown is on....tomorrow marks 3 weeks until the last day of school!! Who's ready for summer?! I know those that I have recently spoken to are. Just a few more weeks and you won't have to worry about completing any more assignments until August 1st (the first day of the 2022-2023 School Year). Seniors - If you are participating in graduation, pease remember that the last day to submit work is May 3rd. Stay focused this reach and be sure to reach out if you have any questions or need help. We are here for you! Temporary Zeros - Temporary zeros for all remaining assignments for the semester will be added on Tuesday, April 26th. This does not mean your assignments are considered overdue. You will still have access to these lessons and will still be able to submit these assignments until May 17th at 8:59pm. Adding in temporary zeros will give you an idea of what your grade would be should you not complete the remainder of the assignments. The goal is always to complete everything but, should you not be able to meet that goal, the next goal would be to get your grade up to passing so you can earn the credit for the course. Transcript Requests Graduates: To request your final official transcripts to be sent to either yourself or the college/university you plan to attend, please visit this website: https://ncagrads.weebly.com/. Please follow the directions as listed on the page. It is important to note that Final Transcripts will not be sent until May 18th, after the first NCA Graduation Date. You may submit your requests early, and they will be held until the aforementioned date. 9th-11th Graders: If you are withdrawing from NCA, please be sure to print your unofficial transcript by going to your gradebook, clicking High School Transcript at the top of the page, and printing that page. -If you missed the opportunity to print your transcript, please call the school directly at 775-826-4200 and speak to the receptionist, who can provide you with the unofficial transcript. -*Note, unofficial transcripts are sufficient for enrollment purposes, and your school is responsible for requesting records upon enrollment. -Please be sure to tell your new school that you attended Nevada Connections Academy, a Public Charter School, as NCA is not a home school. -Should you require an Official Transcript for a special circumstance, please call the school line listed above to explain so we can better assist you. Calling all singers/instrument players! - We are looking for students (one in the Las Vegas area, one in the Reno/Sparks area) to sing/play the National Anthem at graduation. If you are interested, please contact our Manager of Counseling Service, Ms. Candice Thomas at 702-527-3922 or you are welcome to webmail her. Deadline to submit interest is Friday, April 29th. Hello NCA Bears! Welcome back!! I hope you all enjoyed your break. If you worked on lessons….GREAT JOB! Hopefully it was a productive time for you. If you took the time to relax and catch up on rest, GREAT JOB! Our minds and bodies need that downtime. You need to take advantage of it when you can. Now that we have Spring Break in our rearview mirror, it’s time to push the pedal to the metal. We have less than a month left in the school year which means you have 4 weeks to get your work completed and earn a passing grade. Seniors, you have a shorter time frame, you have 2 weeks if you plan on walking at graduation. Now is the time to stop procrastinating and to get to work. No one wants to stay up the night before the last day of school to cram it all in. Do yourself a favor and do it now! Let’s finish strong!! Driver’s Permit & License - Are you planning on getting your driver's permit or license soon? If so, you’ll need to bring the DMV Certification of Attendance - Form 301 - with you. If you’re in 10th grade, please check your “High School Science In-Person Testing 21/22 SY” data view. This data view is accessible through the student and caretaker accounts but only editable through the caretaker account. Please be sure to confirm your testing information as soon as possible. Please note that this exam is for 10th graders only. May 17th - Last day of school!! May 18th - Northern Nevada Graduation! As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Have a fantastic week! Hello NCA Bears! You made it to the week before Spring Break!! I'll pause for cheers. Though we are a virtual school, you get to enjoy Spring Break too! Please note the following, Spring Break is from April 11th-April 18th. Students should be ready to return on Tuesday, April 19th. If you plan on using Spring Break to catch up, that's definitely a wise move and one we recommend if you are behind. Connexus is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you'll have access to all of your courses. Please keep in mind, though, that your teachers will not be available. They deserve time off, just like you! This means that calls, webmails and assignments will not be reviewed until Tuesday, April 19th. Along with this, I wanted to share that when you return, your account MAY be in alarm/approaching alarm. Our escalation system does not recognize our breaks and continues to track whether students are on track. Do not be "alarmed" by this. We will work to remedy issue at the conclusion of Spring Break. Driver’s Permit & License - Are you planning on getting your driver's permit or license soon? If so, you’ll need to bring the DMV Certification of Attendance - Form 301 - with you.
