Hello NCA Bears! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and for those that celebrated, a very happy Mother's Day. Believe it or not, there is only one week (and a day) left of school! While that can be extremely exciting, it can also be overwhelming and stressful. We know that many of you are working hard to finish up your courses. Just remember to breathe, take care of yourself and reach out if you need any help. We're here to help get you across that finish line. A few important things for this last week of school: Escalation- Alarm/Approaching Alarm Too many vacation days – If you are currently in alarm for “too many vacation days”, don’t worry! This will be cleaned up and taken care of for you. You do not need to reach out to your homeroom teacher. Our attendance coordinators are working diligently to clear up these alarms and should have everything completed before the start of next week. Contacts – If you do not have an upcoming call scheduled with your homeroom teacher, please reach out or attend a LiveLesson. Once the call or LiveLesson attendance is recorded, you will be removed from alarm. Participation: You need to complete lessons as soon as possible. If you are finished with all of your curriculum for the year, please disregard this alarm. You will remain in alarm until the last day of school. No need to worry! Assessments: You need to complete a test or quiz as soon as possible. Again, if you're finished with all of your curriculum for the year, please disregard this alarm. Returning School Materials - As we approach the end of another successful school year, the Virtual Schools Customer Returns team is hard at work planning our annual End of Year (EOY) collection project. As a reminder, we ask families to return the following: -Currently enrolled students, regardless of their Intent To Return (ITR), are to return all reusable curriculum materials such as textbooks, novels, etc. Non-reusable materials such as used workbooks, opened kits, headsets, and webcams) should not be returned. -In conjunction with next school year’s student technology offering for each school, only students who are not returning (ITR response is "Blank", "Undecided", or "No") are asked to return Connections Academy computers. Consumable materials (i.e, printers and Wi-Fi adapters) should not be returned. Please visit the Returning Materials webpage for guidance on what items to return, how to return them, and a general FAQ. Driver’s Permit & License - Are you planning on getting your driver's permit or license soon? If so, you’ll need to bring the DMV Certification of Attendance - Form 301 - with you. This needs to be submitted to Cassandra Appleton prior to your appointment. Due to the large number of requests, she is unable to take last minute requests. Please plan on submitting your request with plenty of time before your appointment (at least 48 hours in advance). See the attached document for more information. Hello NCA Bears! We have finally reached the last month of the school year and in just a few weeks, you will be off celebrating summer and enjoying the beautiful weather. Though throughout the month of May, various things are celebrated, including American Cheese Month, we wanted to highlight a very important topic, mental health. May is all about mental health awareness and what better month than the month you are wrapping up the school year? Things can get quite overwhelming and stressful during this time and remembering to take care of yourself, mentally, is extremely important. Here are five things that you can do to ensure that you are taking care of YOU:
Intent to Return - Please take a minute to let us know your plans for next year through the “Plans for Next Year” data view. This data view is only available on the caretakers account. This data view will remain open until May 3rd. Please keep in mind that after May 3rd all students who marked “no” or who have left theirs blank will be withdrawn after the last day of school. If you are unsure how to access this data view or have any questions, you can contact your homeroom teacher. Returning School Materials - As we approach the end of another successful school year, the Virtual Schools Customer Returns team is hard at work planning our annual End of Year (EOY) collection project.
