Hello NCA Bears! The countdown is on...Wednesday marks 3 weeks until the last day of school!! Who's ready for summer?! Just a few more weeks and you won't have to worry about completing any more assignments until August 1st (the first day of the 2023-2024 School Year). Seniors - If you are participating in graduation, please remember that the last day to submit work is May 3rd at 8 am. Stay focused this reach and be sure to reach out if you have any questions or need help. We are here for you! Attendance - Be sure to get your attendance submitted for the week by filling out the form below. To ensure you are getting credit for the week, please make sure you are selecting the correct homeroom teacher. The name of your homeroom teacher can be found on your homepage. Click here ------> WEEKLY ATTENDANCE FORM It's the same form each week so we recommend you save it and set a reminder as this is a requirement. Failure to fill out this form could result in you being marked absent for the entire week. Temporary Zeros - Temporary zeros for all remaining assignments for the semester will be added on Wednesday, April 26th. This does not mean your assignments are considered overdue. You will still have access to these lessons and will still be able to submit these assignments until May 17th at 8:59pm. Adding in temporary zeros will give you an idea of what your grade would be should you not complete the remainder of the assignments. The goal is always to complete everything but, should you not be able to meet that goal, the next goal would be to get your grade up to passing so you can earn the credit for the course. Intent to Return - Please take a minute to let us know your plans for next year by clicking on the “plans for next year” link found on your to-do list. This link is only available on the caretakers account and will remain open until May 3rd. Please keep in mind that after May 3rd all students who marked “no” or who have left theirs blank will be withdrawn. If you are unsure how to access this link or have any questions, you can contact your homeroom teacher. Transcript Requests Graduates: To request your final official transcripts to be sent to either yourself or the college/university you plan to attend, please visit this website: https://ncagrads.weebly.com/. Please follow the directions as listed on the page. It is important to note that Final Transcripts will not be sent until May 18th, after the first NCA Graduation Date. You may submit your requests early, and they will be held until the aforementioned date. 9th-11th Graders: If you are withdrawing from NCA, please be sure to print your unofficial transcript by going to your gradebook, clicking High School Transcript at the top of the page, and printing that page. -If you missed the opportunity to print your transcript, please call the school directly at 775-826-4200 and speak to the receptionist, who can provide you with the unofficial transcript. -*Note, unofficial transcripts are sufficient for enrollment purposes, and your school is responsible for requesting records upon enrollment. -Please be sure to tell your new school that you attended Nevada Connections Academy, a Public Charter School, as NCA is not a home school. -Should you require an Official Transcript for a special circumstance, please call the school line listed above to explain so we can better assist you. Hello NCA Bears! My hope is that you all had a restful weekend and are ready to get this week started off on the right foot. With one month left in the school year, it’s important to buckle down and focus. These remaining weeks will be over before you know it. I know schoolwork is not always easy and your assignments may not have your full interest, however, find a way to push through and do the best that you can to pass your courses so you can earn the required credits to graduate. There are things in life that we must do in order to help us succeed. We may not always like it and we may find ourselves unmotivated at times but remember this, “Do what you have to do, until you can do what you want to do.” Once you finish the year, you get to enjoy your summer and than once you graduate you get to do what you want to do for the rest of your life. Stay positive, believe in yourself, and get your work done. Summer is almost here! State Testing - If you are in 10th grade and you have yet to take your Science State Assessment, you are scheduled to take that this week. For more information, go into your data view section on your student page and look for “NCA - High School Science In-Person Testing 22/23”. Here you will find your testing date, time, and location. If you aren’t required to take this exam, that will be listed there as well. Unsure of where to find your data views? Click on “links” at the top of your home page. Incoming Senior Proof of Vaccine Update - Last week I shared that your proof of vaccination for the second dose of the MCV4 vaccine must be uploaded to the “Multifile Student Document Upload” data view. We recently learned that this data view is only available for those that have marked “yes” for their Intent to Return and submitted the necessary Returning Family and Student Information Forms. Once you mark “yes” and submit the necessary returning information forms, the Multifile Student Document Upload will then become available. Sorry for the confusion. Please reach out if you have any questions. Driver’s Permit & License - Are you planning on getting your driver's permit or license soon? If so, you’ll need to bring the DMV Certification of Attendance - Form 301 - with you. This needs to be submitted to Cassandra Appleton prior to your appointment. Due to the large number of requests, she is unable to take last minute requests. Please plan on submitting your request with plenty of time before your appointment (at least 48 hours in advance). Cick here for more information. Attendance - Be sure to get your attendance submitted for the week by filling out the form below.
