Hello NCA Bears! I hope you enjoyed your 3-day weekend! As we near the end of February, I encourage you to take some time to assess your daily routine, the effort you are putting in (school and outside of school) and your overall attitude about things in general. Are you struggling to stay motivated throughout the day? Maybe you’re finding that everyone around you is happy yet you’re having a hard time staying positive. Whatever you’re feeling, please know that it’s ok to feel that way. Life throws us many challenges and sometimes it’s hard to keep a positive attitude along the way and sometimes we just need someone to tell us that everything is going to be okay. Everything Is going to be ok! Set that routine for yourself, start each day with a smile on your face and believe that you can push through whatever is thrown at you. It’s not too late to turn things around. Attendance - Be sure to get your attendance submitted for the week by filling out the form below. To ensure you are getting credit for the week, please make sure you are selecting the correct homeroom teacher. The name of your homeroom teacher can be found on your homepage. Click here ------> WEEKLY ATTENDANCE FORM It's the same form each week so we recommend you save it and set a reminder as this is a requirement. Failure to fill out this form could result in you being marked absent for the entire week. Driver’s Permit & License - Are you planning on getting your driver's permit or license soon? If so, you’ll need to bring the DMV Certification of Attendance - Form 301 - with you. This needs to be submitted to Cassandra Appleton prior to your appointment. Due to the large number of requests, she is unable to take last minute requests. Please plan on submitting your request with plenty of time before your appointment (at least 48 hours in advance). See the attached document for more information. Parent Involvement Policy and Compact --Your participation in your students’ education is important to us. Because of this, we have developed a Parent and Family Engagement Policy and Compact for Nevada Connections Academy. The Policy and Compact explains how the school plans to work with parents to review and improve programs and it describes how to participate in planning these programs. Federal law requires us to distribute the Parent and Family Engagement Policy and Compact to parents and teachers. Attached is a copy of the Board-approved Parent and Family Engagement Policy and Compact for Nevada Connections Academy. You can also find a copy of this document in the School’s handbook on the Virtual Library or you can access it directly by clicking this link:https://www.connexus.com/library/launch.aspx?id=46203. Have a wonderful week! Hello NCA Bears!! We're a little over 5 weeks into the semester can you believe it? Are you sticking to those goals that you set for yourself?? If not, don’t worry! It’s not too late to turn things around. The most important thing is that you get started. Take a look at your daily routine. Do you have one? Are you staying consistent with it? Identify those areas that are holding you back from completing your work. Are they out of your control or can you make small tweaks to make your goal more attainable? Whatever it is, “start where you are, use what you have,” and “do what you can”.
